Following open rhinoplasty, the base view (bottom of the nose) demonstrates shortening of the tip, improved symmetry of the tip, improved symmetry of the nostrils, straightening of the tip and a transformation to a more aesthetically pleasing triangular shape. The transcolummelar incision that is made at the beginning of the open rhinoplasty heals very well as is demonstrated in the second photograph.
