Non-surgical injectable treatments have gained popularity because of their minimal downtime and beautiful results! When Botox™ fillers are combined, they can produce rejuvenated and natural outcomes. The goal of injectable treatments is to restore volume lost over time and create a more youthful-looking face by adding contours and volume in specific areas. Here is a recap of some popular injectable treatments Dr. Denton and his specialist aesthetic nurse injector Azin Yazdani offer at his Non-Hospital Surgical Facility in Vancouver, BC:
Temple Dermal Filler
Temple fillers injectable treatments that soften the hollows that are created as we age due to the loss of volume in our temples which also results in wrinkles and folds. The temple filler restores the volume in the temples and provides a lateral brow lift. This treatment is particularly effective for patients who have less facial fat and find that their temples are concave. The injected dermal filler, between 0.5 – 1.0 ml per side, in this area, lasts anywhere from 6 – 12 months.
Tear Trough Dermal Filler
Tear trough fillers injectable treatments that are used to minimize wrinkles, dark circles, and under-the-eye hollows that make us look tired and older. Since this area is sensitive and fragile, the injections should not be done by a novice injector. A cannula is used to inject a small amount of very specific filler, usually 0.5ml per side. After four weeks, patients normally return for a follow-up to determine if a touch up is needed. It is highly recommended to inject small amounts of dermal filler in the tear trough as this area can become swollen and retain water.
Cheek Dermal Filler
Cheek filler is typically applied in combination with tear trough filler since together they create brighter eyes and beautiful lateral facial contours to achieve ideal proportions. For patients who want a rejuvenated look, this non-surgical cosmetic treatment is a great place to start. Cheek fillers are also used with patients who wish to achieve facial slimming. A fine, blunt micro-cannula is used to inject into a small needle hole in the cheek 0.5 – 1.0 ml of dermal filler. The results normally last between 6 – 10 months depending on the patient.
Jawline Contouring Using Dermal Filler
Jawline contouring can be achieved with filler in the lateral jaw and chin/pre-jowl sulcus. It is a popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment for individuals who desire to tighten, reshape and contour their jawline. At the hands of a skilled professional, this treatment can enhance the appearance of the face and create balanced profiles. Jawline filler is normally more structured and for this reason, this treatment can last longer (between 4 to 12 months) than cheek/lip filler treatments. Typically the jawline can use more filler than other areas, anywhere from 3-5 syringes can be used to create a contoured jawline.
Volite Skin Booster Filler
Volite is a skin booster filler treatment that is compared to an injectable moisturizer. This is a micro-droplet technique using a soft filler (hyaluronic acid) in the mid-face and around the mouth. This treatment is great for patients who want to keep a very natural look, and also for those who want to reduce fine lines, improve elasticity, and hydrate their skin. It is also ideal as a preventative treatment for individuals who want to maintain their youthful look longer. Dr. Denton recommends two syringes for your first treatment, and four weeks later a possible third. Once your initial treatment is done, maintenance is 1-2 syringes per year.
Lipodissolve For Non-Surgical Facial Fat Reduction
Lipodissolve uses deoxycholic acid to permanently dissolve submental fat. Some patients have stubborn fat under the chin that is said to be genetic. Lipodissolve can be used in the face and neck areas to reduce small amounts of localized excess fat which do not need facial liposuction in order to be removed. These injections cause the fat cells to rupture and die, and over the course of six weeks, your body will eliminate the fat and tighten skin. Patients need anywhere from 2-4 sessions spaced six weeks apart. Common side effects are swelling, tenderness, bruising, and resolve in approximately two weeks.
Additional Areas Where Fillers Can Be Used
Other areas where filler can be used to restore and rejuvenate the skin include:
- Ear lobes
- Horizontal neck lines
- Hands
- Décolleté
